The death has occurred of Owen Drugan on Sunday at the North West Hospice in Sligo.
The beloved son and brother passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his mother Mary, brother Edward, his sisters Marellen and Irene, and is lovingly remembered by his extended family, friends and neighbours.
Messages have poured in for the young man, who was described as “one of life’s truest gentlemen.” One message read: “His warm smile could light up any room, and his infectious laugh was something we all treasured.”
Someone else spoke of the energy Owen brought with him wherever he went: “Owen was a family friend to us all, always with a big smile and a manly hug — no escaping the hug, which we all loved and now will cherish in our hearts forever.”
Another message of condolence simply read: “A young life taken away too soon.”
Owen will repose at Our Lady’s Hospital Chapel in Manorhamilton today (Monday) from 6pm to 8pm, before his funeral Mass takes place on Tuesday at 12 noon in St Clare’s Church, Manorhamilton, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to North West Hospice, Sligo.
