Participants in a previous Easter Hillwalking Festival
Registration is now open for this year's North Leitrim Glens Hillwalking Festival. The event organised by the Holey Soles Walking Club will be held on Easter weekend from April 16 to 17.
Registration information and how to book your space is available online via: Leitrim Hill Walking: Registration
As numbers will be capped at 100 per day, with 50 on each walk on both Saturday and Sunday to meet hill safety requirements and bus capacity, it is important that you select the walk most appropriate to your degree of fitness. We therefore encourage you to book online as early as possible to secure your place, as registration is online in advance only this year.
In line with public health recommendations, mask-wearing is advised when travelling on the bus at the event.
The stunning scenery in Leitrim and surrounding counties make it an ideal location for dedicated hill walkers and ramblers and those who come to the festival get smitten by the Leitrim bug and come back time and time again. Lovely Laid Back Leitrim grabs a lot of hearts!
There will be complimentary tea, coffee and scones at registration both mornings and soup after the walks on Sunday at Glencar teaSHED.
There will be a separate meal on Saturday evening at Osta, W8, Manorhamilton. Tickets for the meal at €22.20, inclusive of €2.20 booking fee, are in addition to the walking fees, and are available to purchase online - two courses, including salads and dessert. Tea, coffee and other drinks from Osta are an additional cost.
There is also fantastic music on Saturday night, 8pm, in The Glens Centre, Manorhamilton with Eleanor Shanley and John Feeley, and tickets may be purchased directly from The Glens Centre.
Participants in the walks will meet at Glencar TeaSHED, Largandoon, Glencar Co. Leitrim F91 PY6A, prior to departure.
