Champions Mohill and their predecessors St Mary's Kiltoghert and Ballinamore Sean O'Heslins have all secured their place in the Connacht Gold Leitrim SFC playoffs but for the remaining seven teams, everything is up in the air ahead of the final round of games.

Mohill, St Mary's and Ballinamore are all unbeaten on six points, O'Heslins' 9-19 to 0-5 destruction of St Patrick's Dromahair lifting them into second place ahead of the Carrick men on scoring difference. All three have secured at least a place in the quarter-finals and, with the other seven teams unable to catch them, the result of the final round games will decide who gets the bye into the semi-finals.

Below them, the picture is as clear as mud - Fenagh St Caillins 1-25 to 1-7 victory over Annaduff lifts them into fourth place by virtue of scoring difference ahead of Leitrim Gaels, Aughawillan and Annaduff but a loss in their final round and wins for any of the other three teams, last year's League champions would miss out.

Glencar Manorhamilton and Gortletteragh both suffered defeats in the third round, the Manor men losing 1-16 to 1-6 to Mohill while St Mary's handed Gortletteragh a 2-14 to 0-3 loss at home on Friday evening but should the draw and results go their way, they both have a chance of making it to the playoffs.

Aughawillan did their hopes a world of good when they defeated Leitrim Gaels 2-10 to 0-12 on Saturday evening, the goals coming from Pearce Dolan and Ciaran Gilheany as they turned back the years with a typically defiant performance, always in control against their hosts who will rue a lot of poor wides.

St Patrick's Dromahair seem to be only team out of the running after their third heavy loss but they could yet play a part in deciding who qualifies for the knockout stages and who goes into a relegation battle depending on how the draw works out.

With teams unable to face a team they have already played and those teams who played at home this weekend unable to face each other, it means that potential opponents are restricted for the final round of games - Fenagh St Caillins can face Aughawillan, Dromahair or Glencar Manorhamilton but they may be better off facing one of their rivals for a knockout spot as victory would knock them out.

Annaduff can face any one of their potenial four opponents on the other side of the draw, Leitrim Gaels, Ballinamore, Mohill or Gortletteragh but St Mary's will face a potential blockbuster with one of Ballinamore, Leitrim Gaels or Mohill. Aughawillan can host Fenagh, Gortletteragh, Fenagh or Mohill in a game that could decide their future, although as they are already on four points, they are in an incredibly strong position.

It means an intriguing finish to the competition with the teams who reach the quarter-finals in action a week after the final round while the bottom four teams head to the relegation series which will see three teams make the drop to the Intermediate grade for 2025.

In the Smith Monumentals IFC, Allen Gaels had their second draw in two outings when Carrigallen held them to a 0-8 apiece draw in Shane McGettigan Park on Saturday evening. Neither team was able to get away from each other with the scores level at 0-4 apiece at the break.

Melvin Gaels got their first win of the campaign when they inflicted a 3-12 to 0-10 defeat on St Mary's second string in Kiltoghert while Aughnasheelin also picked up a first win when they overcame Drumreilly 0-11 to 0-4 at home.

On Friday evening, Aughavas were brought back to earth with a bump after their first round win over Melvin Gaels when Kiltubrid surged into an early lead and never looked back, winning 2-13 to 0-9, a result that leaves them alone at the top of the table with two wins from two.

Drumkeerin claimed the bragging rights in the battle of Lough Allen as they defeated neighbours Ballinaglera 1-11 to 0-10 for their first win. That result leaves Ballinaglera without a win after two outings.

Round three of the Intermediate championship takes place next weekend.
