It is that time of the year when we start looking back on the past 12 months and for Leitrim sports, that means the nomination process for the 2025 Leitrim Sports Star Awards is about to commence.

Leitrim Sports Partnership, in collaboration with Leitrim County Council and the Leitrim Observer, is delighted to announce details of the 2025 edition of the very popular Leitrim Sports Star Awards which will take place on Saturday February 7, 2026 at the stunning Lough Rynn Castle Estate & Gardens.

The annual Sports Star Awards celebrate and acknowledge the remarkable achievements, commitment, and dedication of athletes, coaches, volunteers, and clubs from across County Leitrim. These awards recognise the individuals and groups whose passion for sport enriches communities, inspires participation, and promotes health and inclusion throughout the county.

This year’s event promises to be a highlight on Leitrim’s sporting calendar - a night to celebrate sporting excellence at every level, from grassroots community participation to elite performance.

Leitrim Sports Partnership Sport Co-ordinator, Enda Lyons, said “The Sports Star Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the people and clubs who make sport in Leitrim so special. Whether it’s a coach giving countless hours, a volunteer supporting local programmes, or an athlete representing their club and county with pride - this event is about recognising their contribution and saying thank you.”

Further details, including the full list of award categories and information on how to submit nominations, will be published exclusively in the Leitrim Observer on Wednesday, November 19.

The awards are proudly hosted by Leitrim Sports Partnership in association with Leitrim County Council, with the Leitrim Observer once again partnering as the official media sponsor.
