List of candidates on the Sligo-Leitrim ticket finalised 

At noon on Saturday the deadline for candidates to step forward in the Sligo-Leitrim constituency passed, here is a look at the final list of candidates who will be running for election on the 29th.

The Sligo-Leitrim constituency candidate list is dominated by Sligo candidates with the only four Leitrim natives running overall being Bláithín Gallagher (The Green Party), Martin Kenny TD (Sinn Fein), Leitrim Cathoirleach Paddy O'Rourke (Fianna Fáil), and Des Guckian (Independent).

Sinn Fein has again opted to run two candidates in the constituency and Fianna Fáil have put three candidates forward.

The list hosts three current TDs running for re-election: Marian Harkin, Frank Feighan, and Martin Kenny. While Eamon Scanlon who was put forward by Fianna Fail in recent weeks has also served as a TD, winning the election in both 2007 and 2016.

The list also includes late entrant, Diarmuid MacConville (Independent), who was arrested and spent several days in custody last week for allegedly defacing posters belonging to a number of other candidates. 

The Sligo-Leitrim Candidates include Deputy Martin Kenny (Sinn Féin), Deputy Marian Harkin (Independent), Deputy Frank Feighan (Fine Gael), Cllr. Marie Casserly (Independent), Cllr. Michael Clarke (Independent Ireland), Cllr. Edel McSharry (Fianna Fáil), Cllr. Nessa Cosgrove (Labour Party), Chris McManus (Sinn Féin), Eamon Scanlon (Fianna Fáil), Graham Monaghan (Aontú), Michael Kelly (The Irish People), Bláithín Gallagher (Green Party), Des Guckian (Independant), Paddy O’Rourke (Fianna Fáil), Gino O’Boyle (People Before Profit), Molly Candon (Party of Animal Welfare), Caroline Corcoran (Independent Ireland), Diarmuid MacConville (Independent).
