Leitrim's Fiachra  wins  at Royal Television Society Student Awards

Congratulations to Fiachra Gallagher Lawson of Creevelea, Drumkeerin who won the award for best camera work at the Royal Television Society (RTS) Student Awards 2023, presented in RTE on Feb 28.


Fiachra won the award for his work as Director of Photography on his graduation film, ‘Bestial Ones’, directed by Miles Murphy.


This film was completed as part of their final year work for the BA Hons degree in Film & TV Production at the National Film School at the Institute for Art, Design and Technology in Dun Laoghaire (IADT).

Fiachra graduated with First Class Honours in his degree.


The film won the award for Best Film Drama and will now travel to London in June to compete in the the RTS Student Awards which include films selected from across all the nations and regions of the Republic of Ireland and the UK.


‘Bestial Ones’ was also shown at the Dublin International Film Festival 2023 as part of their ‘Dublin on Screen’ Programme.


Fiachra is the grandson of the late Anna and Pat Gallagher (MRCVS), Mohill.
