Leitrim's Margaret celebrates her 100th birthday

Margaret McKeon was born on May 23, 1923 to  John  Bob Duignan and Catherine Dolan in Meenahill (Curraghnabainne), Aughnasheelin.

Margaret was the second youngest of nine children and the only member of her family to remain in Ireland. Her mother died in childbirth when Maggie was just eight years old. In 1954 she married Tommy McKeon and came to live in Fenagh.

She has been fortunate in health and still lives in her own home where she was in top form on the occasion of her recent 100th birthday which she celebrated in the company of her children Mary, Eileen, Valerie and Tommy, grandchildren David, Gillian, Brian, Thomas, Joseph, Ellen, Colm, Carla, Conor, Tom and great-grandchild Saoirse.
