A new report has revealed dozens of complaints were made against solicitors across Leitrim in 2022.
According to the Legal Services Regulatory Authority (LSRA), 32 complaints were made against solicitors in the county last year, out of a total 1,352 complaints nationwide. This marks a significant decrease on the total number filed in 2021 (1,599).
One extra complaint was made against Leitrim solicitors in 2022 in comparison to 2021, with 17 extra complaints compared to 2020.
Eight hundred and sixty one complaints last year were related to alleged misconduct, while 433 were from clients in relation to services of an inadequate standard.
A further 58 were from clients who complained that they had been charged excessive costs.
