More funding needed for LIS in Leitrim

More funding needed for LIS in Leitrim

Councillors at the latest Manorhamilton Municipal District meeting called on the Council to apply for more funding for Local Improvement Schemes (LIS).

Cllr Mary Bohan said: "I think we need to look for more resources or else we are going to be a very long time getting through our list"

She proposed that the council highlight the issue to the department "that the cost has increased considerably and we need more funding or else we are going to have a very long list again."

There are 178 schemes on the list currently but Cllr Frank Dolan said that "there is problems arising with every one of them" 

Chair Felim Gurn agreed that more funding was needed.
