Leitrim area deaths - Monday, September 25

Rose McGovern, Cornaroy, Drumshanbo, Leitrim

The death has occurred of Rose McGovern, Lake View House, Cornaroy, Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim. Peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her beloved husband Paddy, brothers John-James and Joe and sister Chris. Rose will be deeply missed by her beloved children- Siobhán, Padraig, Fergal and Breege. Daughters-in-law Tara and Rhona and son-in-law Niall and her treasured grandchildren Lisa, Aoife, Daniel, Hugh, Mya, Romy and Grace. Her sisters Philomena and Margaret, her brothers Tom, Pat and Frank, sisters-in-law Una and Nuala and her nieces, nephews, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. 

James (Jim) Murray, Drumhierny, Leitrim Village, Leitrim / Cootehall, Roscommon

The death has occurred of James (Jim) Murray Drumhierny, Leitrim Village, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim and formerly Derrygraw, Cootehall, Co. Roscommon, 23 September 2023, peacefully, surrounded by his devoted family and in the tender care of the staff at North West Hospice, Sligo. Pre-deceased by his parents Patrick, Mary and sister Veronica. Jim will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Maureen, daughters Caroline and Patricia, grandchildren Lauren and James, son-in-law Vincent, brother Timmy, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, wonderful neighbours and his wide circle of friends. 

Seamus Beirne, Ardrum, Ballinamore, Leitrim

Saturday, 23 September 2023, peacefully at Galway University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Bernie, daughter Fiona (and son-in-law Ciaran), sons James (Beth), Peter (Ruth), Stephen (Eimear) and Brian (Katie), beloved grandchildren Darla, Senan and Shay, his extended family, good neighbours and many friends.

May their gentle souls Rest in Peace.
