Cllr Paddy Farrell called on District Engineer, Darragh O’Boyle, to look for funding to repair the other bridge on the L-7409-0 at Gowel "as this old bridge causes severe flooding after heavy rain."
He noted there are two bridges on this road, one of which was constructed recently, "and a brilliant job done by Leitrim County Council." The report by the roads office said that the district office carried out repairs of the Finisklin Bridge on the public road L-7409-0 this year.
"We can place the Gowel Bridge on the bridge rehabilitation list for future funding," the official response concluded.
