Cllr Paddy Farrell said he is getting a lot of complaints about road markings on the R280 at the Kiltoghert and Ballinamore turnoff, known locally as the Fingerboard and called on Leitrim County Council to investigate and address the issue at this location." The report by the roads office said the Council are pursuing the lining contractor to return and complete the lining at this junction.
Chairperson of the Carrick-on-Shannon municipal district meeting, Cllr Enda Stenson supported the motion saying that a motorist could "imagine that it was an overtaking lane."
District engineer, Darragh O'Boyle said that it can sometimes prove difficult to get the contractors to return to the job. "We will get them out as soon as possible."
