Holey Soles group thank everyone for successful fundraising hill walk for Warmi Huasi, Peru

The recent fundraising walk supported for Fr. Ed O'Connell's Warmi Huasi projects in Peru

The Holey Soles Hill Walking Group would like to thank everyone who supported their recent fundraising walks for Fr. Ed O'Connell's Warmi Huasi projects in Peru.

The group has been organising this annual walk since 2007 and is delighted to report that this has been the most successful year yet with €3,033.00 raised for the charity.

Not only was it a great result for the recipients but the walkers had a fantastic day on the Leitrim hills.

The routes in Glencar afforded stunning views to participants in beautiful weather.

It was extra special this year as Fr. Ed O'Connell, a Columban father, was able to attend in person.

This was an opportunity for Fr. Ed to meet the people who have been supporting the charity over the years.

Not only is the financial contribution important but the solidarity from the people of Ireland to the people of Peru is also invaluable.

The organisers are also very grateful to the guides who helped out on the day and to Glencar Tea Shed who provided refreshments and to the Bee Park Sports Hub who helped with emergency equipment.
