Leitrim area deaths – Tuesday, January 23

Cecil Geelan, Dublin / Dromod, Leitrim

Geelan, Cecil A. (Dublin and formerly Dromod, Co Leitrim) 19th January 2024. Peacefully, in the loving care of the staff at Brabazon House Nursing Home, Sandymount. Beloved son of the late Henry and Phylis Annie Geelan & brother of the late Bob and Arthur. Sadly missed by his sister-in-law Doreen, his relatives and many friends.

Teresa McHugh, The Orchard, Duncarberry, Tullaghan, Leitrim / Frosses, Donegal

The death has taken place of Teresa McHugh, 22 The Orchard, Duncarberry, Tullaghan, Co. Leitrim and formerly of Drimard, Frosses, Co. Donegal at Sligo General Hospital. She is predeceased by her loving parents James and Mary Florence McHugh. She is sadly missed by her sisters Anne Heekin, Frances Dunnion (UK) brothers John (UK) and Andy (Frosses), partner Ignatius McCann, her brother in laws Michael and Con and sister in law Cathy. Her loving nieces Trasa, Marie and Angela and nephews Martin, Ian and Andrew, grand nieces and nephews and a large circle of family and friends.

Johnny Halpin, Rathmines, Dublin / Ballymacarbry, Waterford / Dromahair, Leitrim

Johnny Halpin - late of Rathmines, Dublin, formerly of Ballymacarbry, Waterford and of later years Dromahair, Leitrim. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family and in the wonderful care of the staff at St. Vincent’s University Hospital on January 18. Loving Husband of Dolores. Devoted Dad to daughter Marie and son Jack. Predeceased by his parents Paddy and Josephine. Dearly missed by brother’s Tommy and Paudie, sisters Anne, Alicia and Siobhan, as well as brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and wide circle of family, friends and the St Jude’s GAA Community.

May their gentle souls Rest in Peace.
