Sealer needed to stop weeds and moss growing on pavements in Manorhamilton

Sealer needed to stop weeds and moss growing on pavements in Manorhamilton

Cllr Felim Gurn

Cllr Felim Gurn asked that the council look at existing footpaths and roundabout entrances coming into Manorhamilton and come up with a solution for when the footpaths are paved on sand to ensure that weeds and moss cannot keep coming up through the brick surfaces.

He said this is a different issue from new public realm works that have just taken place in the town.

A report by the Roads office said this issue will be investigated to see if measures can be included in the installation works that will eliminate the onset of weeds and moss.

Cllr Gurn stated that what is needed is a special sealer that will prevent the growth of the weeds and moss.
