Cold weather continues as snow in some areas on high ground is expected in today’s weather forecast

Friday, March 01, will be very cold and mostly dry with scattered wintry showers; some hail and sleet will spread southwards through the morning and early afternoon, with a dusting of snow possible over higher ground.

Isolated thunderstorms are possible, too. Brighter, drier weather will follow later in the afternoon. Highs of 3 to 5 degrees with light to moderate northerly winds increasing fresh and gusty in the afternoon.

TONIGHT: Cold with a mix of clear spells and wintry rain showers, hail and sleet with some snow on hills and mountains. Some frost and icy patches are possible. Lowest temperatures are between -1 and +3 degrees, with mostly moderate north to northwest winds.
