Ita Reynolds-Flynn, Fine Gael, Ballinamore LEA
Ita Reynolds-Flynn of Fine Gael has maintained her seat in Leitrim County Council for the Ballinamore local electoral area. Reynolds-Flynn received 723 first preference votes.
Speaking on her re-election, she said: "I'm honoured and humbled to be re-elected to Leitrim County Council."
Reynolds-Flynn hopes to encourage an active community in Ballinamore. "I'd like to bring more funding to Ballinamore town and to ensure that our courthouse becomes an active hub, along with the John McGahern centre and I'd like to see some more employment to the town."
Remarking on her campaign, she said: "It was a positive campaign. It was slow, but I liked engaging with people and hearing about their issues."
Along with housing and farming, Reynolds-Flynn said concerns surrounding childcare and home carers were prevalent during the course of her campaign.
"I'd like to see that the carers would get better work hours. We need more carers within the homes and I'd like to see the embargo lifted from the HSE also."
