Parking issues at Rossinver for swimming lessons in Lough Melvin have sparked safety concerns.

At the latest Manorhamilton municipal district meeting, Cllr Eddie Mitchell asked the Council provide some increased traffic management support here in 2025.

Cllr Mitchell also recognised the Council’s support for the swimming lessons at Lough Melvin every year.

“There’s an issue with parking there during the summer. What they need is maybe something to slow down traffic,” Cllr Mitchell said.

Cllr Gilmartin seconded Cllr Mitchell’s motion.

A reply from the Roads department stated that the Council would not have the resources to provide Traffic Management support at sporting events throughout the county. However, if the organisers of such events wish to contact the Council for advice, they can do so.
