The Ballinamore Community Centre is set to receive €22,482 for wall and ceiling insulation to boost energy efficiency.
In a significant move to support community infrastructure, Taoiseach Simon Harris and Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys have announced funding for essential upgrades at community centres across County Leitrim. The grants, part of the Community Centres Investment Fund 2024, will help improve facilities, ensuring they remain vital hubs for local engagement.
Among the selected community centres, the Aughavas Community Centre will receive €21,898 to refurbish its wooden floor and install stage curtains with a pulley system, enhancing its functionality for events. The Aughnasheelin Community Centre will benefit from a €24,938 grant to upgrade heating systems, repurpose a small meeting room, and improve ventilation and ceiling height in the kitchen.

Kiltubrid Community Centre will receive €10,200 for essential repairs to improve accessibility and functionality.
Kiltyclogher Community Centre will benefit from the maximum grant of €25,000 to upgrade its heating system, exit doors, and fire safety system. The Mohill Community and Sports Hub will receive €12,232 to install solar panels, further enhancing its energy efficiency. Aughawillan Community Centre is set to receive €23,703 to upgrade its toilets, ensuring they meet community needs.
The Rossinver Community Centre will receive €20,967 for a new water connection and solar panel installation. Finally, the Organic Centre Community Hub will benefit from a €10,014 grant to upgrade its café equipment, enhancing the quality of service for visitors.
Minister Humphreys expressed pride in the initiative, highlighting the role of community centres in fostering local connections and providing essential services to residents. This funding will ensure that these centres can continue to thrive and meet the diverse needs of their communities.
