Motorists are a warned of delays in the Leitrim area

There are a number of roadworks ongoing around the area so motorists are warned to expect delays.

In Leitrim there is a reduced speed limit of 60kmph in place on the N16 Sligo/ Enniskillen Rd on the Manorhamilton of Glenfarne village until at least November for ongoing works. A new road layout will also be in place in the area until completion of the works. Take care on approach.

A stop/go system will be in place on the N16 Sligo/ Enniskillen Rd at Castlegal Bridge, Glencar for several weeks. Delays are expected.

The N61 Boyle/ Roscommon Rd is also closed in parts between Boyle and Tulsk until early November. Diversions via Frenchpark and local access will be maintained.

Meanwhile in Longford there are overnight works and a stop/go system in place on the N4 Dublin/ Sligo Rd on the Edgeworthstown Bypass between the Goldsmith R/A and Maria Edgeworth R/A until Sun 23rd Oct from 7pm to 4am each night. 

There is also a new road layout at Cathedral Junction in Longford Town. Traffic lights and pedestrian crossings are now in operation at the junction of Dublin Rd, Dublin St, Major’s Well Rd and New St. In addition, the vehicle entrance and exit from the car park opposite the cathedral to Major’s Well Road has been closed.

In Cavan there is a stop/go system in place to allow for works that are ongoing on the N3 Dublin/Cavan Rd at Virginia Bridge at the Bailieborough Rd (R178) jct between 7pm and 11pm today (12th). A stop/go system is also operating to allow for works on the N3 Dublin/ Cavan Rd at Billis Bridge until Fri 28th Oct.

And finally in Donegal there is a stop/ go system in place for works on the N15 Donegal/ Ballyshannon Rd just north of Laghy until approx. Fri 11th Nov.
