On Saturday evening, March 9 Yvonne Hollidge hosted a crowded Launch party in St George’s Heritage and Visitors centre, Carrick-on-Shannon.

This beautiful historical venue provided a stunning backdrop and acoustics for singers Mandi & Jonny and classical singer Siobhan Brady.  Guest speaker on the night was Thomas Pringle TD who spoke to the enthusiastic crowd about the importance of new independent candidates and women entering politics.  Thomas stated that “it is vitally important to put Yvonne into the council because that is where change starts.”

Yvonne Hollidge spoke candidly about the decline of our rural communities over the past number of years and how “we need to consider the human impact of policies before we set them.”

Consider the impact on local people and businesses at council level. Yvonne Hollidge then went on to say that she will continue to talk to local people and bring their voice to the council without prejudice or bias. The event was live-streamed on the evening to an even wider audience.
