Gardaí at the scene of this afternoon's incident
A Longford department store has been forced to close this evening after a violent row between a number of women broke out in front of horrified shoppers.
It's understood two women attacked another female inside Penneys at Longford Shopping Centre shortly after 3pm.
One of the women is understood to have been injured as a result.
Two women have since been arrested and are currently being detained at Longford garda station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
The incident prompted management to close the shop with its shutters being pulled down shortly afterwards.
