There are lengthy delays on the N4 in Carrick-on-Shannon today, Friday, with traffic backed out the Boyle Road and taking approximately 15 minutes to get through the town.
The traffic problems in Carrick-on-Shannon are ongoing but are exacerbated on Bank Holiday Weekends when large numbers take to the roads.
Motorists travelling through Carrick-on-Shannon are advised to plan their journey and allow extra time.
