Leitrim County Council approves development for Annaduff Primary, including new classrooms and improved facilities.
Leitrim County Council has granted permission for a significant development at Annaduff Primary School, aimed at improving educational facilities for its 191 students.
The development includes a new single-storey school extension, which will feature a dedicated 2-classroom SEN base, a central activities space, and various ancillary educational areas.
The project also involves the demolition of a standalone learning support room and adjacent sheds, as well as relocating the hard-surface play area.
Additionally, plans include the creation of a bus drop-off area, pedestrian footpaths, and essential site works, along with connections to services.
The expansion is designed to accommodate the needs of the 191-student population and enhance the learning environment.
“We are delighted to have gotten this far and are excited about the new facilities,” said Clare Caslin, the school’s principal.
“Having two dedicated classrooms for our children with autism will make a significant difference. It’s quite tight in the school at present, so we are happy to be moving forward to the next part of the development.”
