Leitrim County Council has applied for funding from the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund to carry out enhancement works in four villages along the River Shannon.
The villages included in the application are Dromod, Drumsna, Leitrim Village, and Rooskey. If the funding is approved, each location will benefit from public space improvements and enhancements.
At a recent meeting of Carrick-on-Shannon Municipal District, Cllr Enda Stenson asked whether there were plans to upgrade the streets in Drumsna.

The funding application includes provision for hiring a design team to carry out early-stage planning and lead the project through the planning approval process.
It also covers the development of preliminary designs for each village based on original concepts, progression through the Part 8 Planning process, including public consultation, and ultimately, the submission of a Category 1 RRDF funding application to deliver the actual construction and implementation phase.
Leitrim County Council does not expect to receive a decision on the funding until the third quarter of the year.
