MacOisin Place, Dromod
A decision is expected in the coming days from Leitrim County Council on a proposed housing development in Dromod that could deliver nearly 20 new homes.
The application, submitted to the Council on March 6, outlines plans for the construction of 19 residential units at MacOisin Place, Drumod Beg.
The proposed development includes eight three-bedroom, two-storey semi-detached houses; ten four-bedroom, two-storey semi-detached houses; and one four-bedroom, single-storey detached house.
The plans also provide for a new site entrance off the existing estate road, along with car parking, landscaping, connections to all public services, and other ancillary works.

Leitrim continues to experience the lowest number of house completions in Ireland, with challenges including high demand from buyers and renters, and elevated servicing costs from providers such as Uisce Éireann.
Only 11 dwellings were completed in Leitrim during the first quarter of this year. Between January and May, the Council received commencement notices for 41 housing units.
If all pending applications are approved, there is potential for an additional 81 housing units in the county in 2025.
A decision on the Dromod development is due by July 21.
