Investigations are ongoing after Gardaí in Leitrim received a report of a burglary at a house in Annaghmore, during which a number of power tools were stolen.

According to Gardaí, the incident occurred sometime between 7pm on Thursday, July 24, and 2:15pm on Wednesday, July 30.

There has been a recent rise in industrial theft across Leitrim, including a separate incident at a yard in Ballinamore on July 15, where equipment worth tens of thousands of euro was taken.

Among the stolen items were a 2016 white Renault Master van, a quad trailer carrying a ride-on powerfloat, a motorbike, a concrete drill, a chainsaw, a manual powerfloat, a cement mixer, and a power washer. Some of these items have since been recovered.

Gardaí are urging the public to take extra precautions when storing tools and machinery.

Leitrim Community Gardaí recently held a property marking event on July 25 in Aughnasheelin, aimed at deterring theft and improving the chances of recovering stolen property.
