St Phelim's, Dromahair
A planning application has been submitted to Leitrim County Council for the expansion of a nursing home in North Leitrim.
Mary Flanagan has applied to extend St Phelim’s Nursing Home in Killananima, Dromahair, seeking an additional 35 en-suite bedrooms along with ancillary accommodation.
The proposal includes the creation of a storage area within part of the roof space, as well as the construction of a storage and workshop building and a separate refuse storage building.
Permission is also being sought to retain an existing storage container and a staff amenity shelter, together with all associated site development works.

St Phelim’s Nursing Home provides care and support for adult residents, both female and male, primarily aged 65 and over, though respite and convalescent care is available to those both under and over 65.
The facility is currently registered for 75 residents.
The home, which opened in 1996, is located approximately one kilometre outside Dromahair. It is a two-storey building, with all residents accommodated on the ground floor.
Bedroom accommodation includes a mix of single, double, and multiple-occupancy rooms across four units: Lough Gill, Railway View, Railway Court and Inisfree.
