Drumshanbo’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade will kick off at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17th, with local sports stars Rikki Wynne and Eddie McGowan acting as grand marshals on the day.
Both won major prizes at the Leitrim sports awards, with Ultra runner Rikki Wynne winning the individual sports star of the year award, while pool player Eddie McGowan took the overall sports star award.
The pair will lead the parade, which will enter town from the Carrick Road, travel down Main Street, and head up Church Street. Float participants are asked to line up at Corryard Wood by 3:30 p.m.
Ahead of the parade, Main Street will come alive with a DJ performing on the High Street stage at 3 p.m. to get the crowd into the festive spirit.
The parade is open to all, with free entry for those wishing to showcase a float. Prizes will be awarded for the Most Entertaining Float, Best Commercial Float, and Best Foot Float.
