From next Monday, September 17 Boyle turns into Hollywood as the filming for Moone Boy series two begins it’s two week stint.

Prepare to see a St Patrick’s Day parade in September, celebrities walking over the bridge, numerous shouts of ‘Action,’ laughter and some traffic disruptions as the Moone Boy film crew roll back into town.

The premiere of Series One is this Friday night, September 14 on Sky 1, at 9.30pm. Boyle will be celebrating the launch throughout the town with many premises showing the episodes as they air.

But proud Roscommon actor, writer and director Chris O’Dowd and his high profile cast are already half way through filming the second series! The new series will see new names joining the popular cast which of course includes the main character Martin Moone - played by Carrigallen’s very talented David Rawle.

Filming from Monday in Boyle will include interior scenes and quiet rural locations, but Monday September 24 will see the crew filming at the Crescent, 2pm - 5pm with some traffic disruption likely. Tuesday, September 25 will have the Town Centre buzzing with the magic of filming from 8am - 5pm. Major traffic disruption is likely. And various points around Boyle will get the star treatment on Wednesday, September 26.
