It may be over for another year but already attention is turning to August 2015 and the return of Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann to the streets of Sligo.

An estimated 350,000 people descended upon Sligo over the course of the Fleadh which was brought to a close by Dervish with a free concert, a week after President Michael D Higgins had officialy launched the event.

The streets, pubs, hotels and every street corner became a hive of activity during the week which is estimated to have boosted the local economy by as much as €40m.

See this week’s Leitrim Observer for more pictures from Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann.
