Vandalism and theft of election posters in Manorhamilton LEA

She has called those responsible "bullies"

Vandalism and theft of election posters in Manorhamilton LEA

Bernie Linnane

Bernie Linnane, Labour Party candidate for the upcoming elections in the Manorhamilton local electoral area, has condemned the theft and vandalism of dozens of her election posters over the weekend.
"Sometime between the hours of 9pm on Friday night and 8.30 on Saturday morning, all my election posters from Dromahair to Manorhamilton, via Sox Line, were cut down. A few were thrown in the ditch, the rest (more than 20) are unaccounted for. Others at Kilcoosey and at the Mart in Manorhamilton have been defaced by what looks like the same hand. All of this has been reported to Gardai," said Ms Linnane.
"I want to say to the people who did this," Bernie continued, "You are nothing more than bullies. Your attempts at intimidation will not work. I am not afraid of you. You will not stop me standing up for what I believe to be right."
Ms Linnane said she would have paid to have her posters taken down after the election. Instead, she is offering a reward to anyone who can identify what she calls the cowardly bullies responsible for this pathetic act of vandalism.
