Over 1700 homes without power locally

Power outage affecting 1,865 homes and businesses in Dundalk

ESB Networks working to repair fault in Dundalk

The ESB is working towards restoring power to the majority of impacted customers around Leitrim by this evening.

Over 1,700 homes and businesses around Leitrim and the surrounding counties are without power this morning due to Storm Franklin.

Almost 2,000 properties are without electricity in the Dowra area. Over 200 homes are affected in Arigna, 289 in Mohill, about 60 around Dromod, around 40 in Rooskey and 16 in Ballyconnell.

There was a status orange warning in place for Leitrim until 7am this morning and a status yellow was in place until 9am.

ESB says they expect power to be restored to most homes by lunchtime and the rest by 6pm this evening.
