Man charged after drugs with street value of 200,000 euro seized in Dublin

A man has been charged after drugs with an estimated value of 200,000 euro were seized from an abandoned vehicle in Dublin.

Cannabis herb and zopiclone tablets, used to treat insomnia, were seized in Blanchardstown on Saturday afternoon.

A search of a vehicle was carried out after gardai on uniform patrol came upon it in Blanchardstown.

The drugs are now being analysed by Forensic Science Ireland.

A man aged in his 30s was arrested as part of the Garda investigation and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

The man has been charged and is due to appear before Criminal Courts of Justice on Monday at 10.30am.
