Gardaí at the scene of the incident in Naas this morning
A man has died in a residential fire in Naas.
Three gardaí who responded to the incident received medical attention.
The incident happened in the Oldtown Demesne area of the town at around 4am this morning.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to the fire in a residential building.
Gardaí said they evacuated the building and the fire was brought under control by units of Kildare Fire Service.
A Garda spokesperson said: "One male was pronounced deceased; his body remains at the scene.
"The scene of the incident is currently preserved for a technical examination and enquiries are ongoing.
"Three members of An Garda Síochána received medical attention following the incident."
