When and where is the event taking place?

The 2024 Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon will take place on Sunday 2nd June at 12.30pm. The 10km event will begin at Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin 2 and end on Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2.

There are five different entry points marking different time waves.Entrants will be put into waves based on their estimated finishing times, which are each distinguished by colour and signify how fast you plan to complete the 10km race.

The elite category will be first to set off, followed by runners, the fast joggers, joggers and then walkers.

What time does the race start at?

The 2024 event will start at 12.30pm. You should be in your correct wave from 12pm. If you arrive late, you will be directed to the back of the race.

Is there somewhere to leave my bag?

There are baggage drop locations at each of the five entry routes which open at 10.30am. Organisers ask that participants bring a clear reusable bag for their belongings and add that they are left at the owner’s own risk.

The white and pink wave bag drop will be after their entrance point on Fitzwilliam Square. The blue wave bag drop will be after the entrance point on Baggot Street. The green wave bag drop will be after the entrance point on Merrion Square West, while the yellow wave bag drop will be after the entrance on Mount Street Upper.

What is the course route?

The course route is available here, or on the Vhi Women's Mini Marathon website.

Will there be water on offer on the course?

Water will be available at both the start and finish areas. You can bring a bottle of water with you if you feel you may require more water. If you are discarding your bottle, please use one of the bins provided.

There will also be water stations on the course, at the 3km, 6km and 8km marks

Can I compete with a group?

Yes! The event organisers are happy for you to take part with your friends and family. If you want to be in the same wave, please ensure you select the same wave when you enter. Remember, you cannot move up waves, but you will be allowed to move down waves to join your friends.

Will there be pacers for the runners?

There will be pacers for runners aiming for 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 minutes. There will also be wave leaders for the Blue, Green, and Yellow waves to guide and inspire you. Pacers and wave leaders will be easy to spot – each will have a large 3ft balloon attached to them.

Where is the best place to watch/support?

Supporters will line the railings of the entire 10km route, with the start and finish lines being particularly busy. There is no specific spot for supporters to stand, but just make sure that wherever you are along the route that the person you're there for sees and hears your support!

What should I consider before participating?

We do recommend that you consult with your GP in advance of undertaking the challenge to ensure you are fit enough to take part and this event poses no risk to your health.

How do I access the race route on Sunday?
