An urgent recall has been issued for over 20,000 Guinness embossed mugs that were sold across over 100 stores in Ireland this year.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) issued the alert on Tuesday that Shamrock Gift Company is carrying out a recall on Guinness embossed mugs.
"The risk presented by this product is scalding. An error in the manufacturing process may lead to a weakness at the base of the mug. This can cause the mug to leak or break when in contact with hot water. This may result in scalding to consumers," reads the notice.
According to the CCPC, there are approximately 21,660 affected products in the Republic of Ireland. The impacted products were available to buy between May and November 2024.
Customers who purchased one of the mugs are advised to stop using the product immediately and return the product to the place of purchase to receive a full refund. Alternatively, consumers can contact Shamrock Gift Company at customerservice@shamrockgiftcompany.com.
