Man seriously injured in Dublin hit-and-run

A man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Dublin on Sunday evening.

The collision, involving a car and a pedestrian, took place at around 8.45pm in Lower Rathmines Road.

Gardai said the car involved failed to remain at the scene.

The pedestrian, a man aged in his 40s, was taken by ambulance to St James’s Hospital.

His injuries are understood to be serious.

The scene has been preserved and traffic diversions are in place as gardai appeal for witnesses to come forward.
