The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has issued an urgent recall notice for batches of popular Irish ready-made meals that were produced in an "unapproved establishment".
The alert was issued on Tuesday for batches of five flavours of Gleesons Butchers ready meals.
In a statement, the FSAI stated: “The below Gleesons Butchers ready meals are subject to recall as they were produced in an unapproved establishment which is not subject to official controls.
“Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale,” it added.
The recall applies to all batches and best-before dates of Gleesons Butchers Stir-Fried Chicken with Noodles, Gleesons Butchers Chicken Korma with Basmati Rice, Gleesons Butchers Butter Chicken with Basmati Rice, Gleesons Butchers Mild Chicken Jalfrezi Stirfry with Basmati Rice, and Gleesons Butchers Thai Green Chicken Curry with Basmati Rice.
Retailers are requested to remove the implicated products from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale, while consumers are advised not to eat the implicated products.
