Colin Griffin crosses the line in the Belfast Marathon earlier this year
Fast times were the order of the day for Leitrim duo Colin Griffin and Clive Glancy at the Charleville International Half Marathon in Cork last Sunday.
Ballinamore AC’s Colin Griffin finished an excellent eighth in Charleville and knocked 2 minutes and 22 seconds off his previous best for the distance with a time of 70 minutes 20 seconds as he prepares for the Dublin Marathon.
Carrick AC’s Clive Glancy finished 22nd in a time of 73 minutes 41 seconds, just five seconds off his previous best and another good sign for an athlete who will be competing in the European Police Marathon Championships at this year’s Dublin City Marathon.
It completes a busy month for Griffin who had finished third in the Grant Thornton Corporate Challenge 5Km with a time of 16.09 while he finished fifth in the KIA series 10K in Mondello Park with 33.20.
