Pictured is the family of Benny Clancy with some of his paintings - wife Phil, son Jason and daughters Jessamine and Amanda
Following the successful recent exhibition of late local man, Benny Clancy's outstanding paintings (1996 – 2012) in the Leitrim Sculpture Centre, it has been decided by the Sculpture Centre, as well as Benny's wife, Phil and her family, including Jeasmine, Amanda and Jason, to have a public auction of Benny's remaining paintings of 64 lots for North West Hospice.
This auction will take place on Friday night, February 11 from 7pm to 8.30pm and the doors will be open from 5pm on. The Auctioneer will be Darragh Heraghty, who the Sculpture Centre and the Clancy Family greatly appreciate for providing his excellent services.
"The culmination of 16 years of work completed in 201, it consists of around 150 paintings, mostly in oils on canvas or board, and captures the moods and atmospheres of North Leitrim and Sligo at the turn of the millennium as well depicting important events and scenes typical of earlier periods in Irish rural life,” said Sean O’Reilly, Director of Leitrim Sculpture Centre.
