Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, has heaped praise onto Republic of Ireland international, Caoimhin Kelleher, following Liverpool's 3-0 victory over Bournemouth at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

He came in to replace Liverpool's regular number 1 Alisson Becker between the sticks, as the Brazilian was unavailable for selection for game.

Although the score line may suggest it was a quiet afternoon between the posts for the Cork man, it was anything but, as he managed to make 7 saves from Bournemouth and denying The Cherries cashing in on their 1.08 expected goals in the game.

In the post match interview, manager, Arne Slot was not shy to give Kelleher the praise he deserved, the interviewer asked him "That you were missing the best number 1 in the world today (Alisson) but we didn't feel like he was missing."

To which he responded " We have to give him credit (Kelleher) because he made some very good saves and I also like the way we defended in the game. So, he got help from them but also needed Caoimhin a few times to make some very good saves. It is also nice to have more than 1 quality player in that position."
