Ireland defender Dara O'Shea set for surprise transfer to the Premier League

Sky Sports News has reported that Republic of Ireland and West Brom centre-half Dara O'Shea is close to a transfer to Premier League outfit Burnley.

The 24-year-old, who played 90 minutes for the Boys in Green in a Euro 2024 qualifier against Gibraltar at the Aviva Stadium on Monday night, could have a medical as early as tomorrow ahead of a potential move to Turf Moor.

Former Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany guided the Clarets back to the Premier League thanks to a triumphant season at the summit of the Championship table in his first campaign in charge.

O'Shea made 37 league appearances for West Brom in the English second tier last season, scoring two times.
