Day of firsts at Leitrim Handball Finals

Annaduff's victorious U12 Doubles team and the runners-up from Drumshanbo

It was a day of firsts at Leitrim Centre of Excellence as Annaduff Handball Club hosted the Leitrim County Juvenile finals for the first time.

It was also the first time in over two decades that a juvenile handball medal had come to Glencar Manorhamilton with Cormac Scarff and Tadgh Kirwan winning the U14 Doubles title. In general though the medals were shared over the four handball clubs in Leitrim.

Fenagh’s Ciara Conlon who took the girls U11 title. Then it was the turn of Drumshanbo’s Mark McShera to pick up the boys U11 title. In the U11 doubles, Sam Conroy and Rory McKiernan were in unbeatable form.

Annaduff’s Maxim Gilmartin and Eoin Mahon took the U12 Doubles, Peter Cox won the U-13 Boys singles again for Annaduff, while Dara Nolan and Conor McCabe won the U13 Boys Doubles for Drumshanbo.

Ross McShera then took another medal home for the McShera family and the Drumshanbo Club.

The County board would like to thank all the Annaduff organisers and parents involved in hosting the event and giving the clubs such a warm welcome.

We now look forward to the Connacht B Championships in the coming weeks.
