Team Trident had three great days in the NAC at the Irish Winter Nationals as day one saw pbs in every race. Congratulations to Conor Lanigan and Cormac Rynn who made the 200m Butterfly finals. Both had great races in the finals, they dropped 5.9 sec (Cormac) and 7.3 sec (Conor) off their entry times.
Well done to Phoebe Lynott who went under 10 mins (9:58.54) for the first time in the 800m freestyle event.
Eoghan Rynn got day two off to a flying start with a 59.43 in his 100m backstroke - under a minute for the first time. He kept his Finals swim under the minute too. Cormac made finals in 400 IM and 200 Breast and pb'd both races.
Conor had three great swims, PB's in all. He made the final for the 400 IM and in a really great race broke the 5 minute barrier going 4:55.93.
Day three, Cormac was on fire again in the 200m IM . In a highly competitive transition final he touched in first with a 2.6 sec PB.
Well done on all the hard work in the pool, it showed in your racing. Your coaches Helen and Bernice are proud of you.
