Met Éireann has upgraded the weather warning for Leitrim, effective from tomorrow, as Storm Amy approaches.
The warning has been raised from Status Yellow to a Status Orange Wind Warning for counties Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo, Donegal and Galway. It will be in effect from Friday, October 3, at 2pm until 10pm that evening.
Met Éireann has warned that Storm Amy will bring near gale to gale force winds with very gusty southwest to west winds.
The potential impacts include fallen trees, damage to power lines and possible power outages, very difficult travelling conditions and the risk of wave overtopping.

The forecast for today is wet and blustery with widespread heavy rain, which may lead to localised flooding, with highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees.
Tonight, long clear spells will develop, though rain will arrive towards morning. Winds will ease through the night but strengthen again by morning.
Friday will be a very windy day as Storm Amy makes landfall, bringing strong to gale force and gusty south to southwest winds, reaching storm force in coastal areas.
