Whats on in Leitrim this weekend

So what's on this weekend in Co Leitrim? Well here's just a selection of the fabulous entertainment on offer locally.


Friday 7th:

Theatre: The Corn Mill Theatre Group present ‘Tom Clarke’s One True Love’ at 8.30pm in the Corn Mill Theatre Carrigallen. Bookings on 049 4339612.

Flower Festival: Manorhamilton Church of Ireland are having a Flower Festival on the theme of Harvest this weekend. Special harvest service at 8pm on Friday 7th  and the church will be open all weekend with various  arrangements.

Charity: Collection for Breast Cancer Awareness by Carrick ICA ladies and friends. Collecting at Tesco, Aldi, Supervalu, Kennedy's Filling Station and Coffey's in Carrick-on-Shannon.

Benefit night: A special benefit night has been organised to assist the Loughlin Óg medical fund. Born with a rare serious medical condition baby Loughlin Óg will require costly extensive surgery over the coming years. Please attend a special benefit night in the Spirit Bar, Mohill . Music by David Donnelly, Bobby Shanley, Alan Farry and Tom Moran. Admission is optional.

1916 Commemoration: Taking place in Carrigallen at 6pm this evening at the Community Centre.. The event will honour Tom Clare and Peter Paul Galligan. Dr Martin Mansergh is special guest and a plaque will be unveiled as part of the commemoration. There will be a reading of the Proclamation, a musical tribute and the raising of the Irish Flag.There will also be an extensive display of 1916 memorabilia on display in the Centre.

Saturday 8th:

Theatre: Seamus O’Rourke’s Danger Money will be performed in Fenagh Community Centre at 8.30pm Tickets €10 on the door. Call (071) 9645890

Opera: The 2016/17 Metropolitan Opera 'Live in HD' cinema season commences with Wagner's 'Tristian & Isolde' - full programme is now booking online.

Poetry: David Cameron Poetry Book Launch, 1-3pm at The Glens Centre, Manorhamilton. David will launch his collected poems ‘The Bright Tethers – Poems 1988-2016’ . All welcome to this free poetry reading.

Multicultural: Celebrate Nigerian Independence day with a special family event in the Market Yard, Carrick-on-Shannon from 1pm to 4pm. Get to know more about Nigerian culture and food.

Fundraiser: Coffee morning in aid of baby Loughlin Óg in Spirit Bar, Mohill from 10am to 2pm. Born with a rare serious medical condition baby Loughlin Óg will require costly extensive surgery over the coming years. All support greatly appreciated.


Sunday 9th:

Fun Run: Fun Run by Drumsna Development Association, funds will go towards the community centre. Registration opens at the Centre at 12 noon and race commences 1pm sharp.

Coffee Morning: To raise money to assist those with spinal injuries. This coffee morning will be held in St Joesph's Centre, Leitrim Village after morning mass.
