Action packed first day for Carrick-on-Shannon Carnival

What's on today at Carrick Carnival?

Today, Friday, June 1, Carrick Carnival 2018 kicks off in fine style with lots to see and do in the county town. The 10 day event is jam packed with events, competitions and much more.

The Carnival will start with a bang with this year's opening parade, at 7.15pm, promising to be bigger and better than ever.

This free event includes music, bands, street theatre groups and lots more. The Main Street and Bridge Street area of Carrick-on-Shannon will be closed to traffic this evening (June 1) from 6pm to 9pm to facilitate the celebrations.

Battle of the Bar Tenders

At 7pm our bar men and women will take to the streets to show their skills in the popular Battle of the Bartenders. A steady hand is a must as competitors race through the town and over obstacles - all carrying a tray of drinks! Competitors are asked to assemble at The Anchorage Bar.

Murray's Amusements

Of course the ever popular Murray's Amusements are returning to the Carrick Indoor Karting facility on the Leitrim Road. Don't miss it. It runs from 7pm until late.

Ball Race

At 8.30pm this evening Bridge Street, Carrick-on-Shannon will be overtaken by a wave of colour as thousands of balls are released as part of the Ball Race. Get in early to place your bets at the Town Clock. 

Big Generator

Big Generator are performing live at Murtagh's Courtyard on Main Street from 9.30pm til late tonight. Come along to enjoy this fabulous free event.

Carrick Golf Club Annual Club Classic

Runnign from Friday, June 1 to Monday, June 4 the Carrick-on-Shannon Golf Classic is open to locals and visitors. See www.carrickgolfclub.ie for more.
