Led by ten points from Man of the Match Gavin O'Hagan, Cluainin regained the Leitrim Senior Hurling Championship title after a fiercely contested and, at times, fractious Leitrim Senior Hurling Championship Final in Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada.
CLUAININ 0-14 CARRICK-ON-SHANNON 1-6
Having lost heavily to the same opposition in the first round, Cluainin completely turned the tables on the favourites with a physical approach that the Carrick men simply couldn't match.
Carrick lost sub Conor Behan to a straight red card late just before halftime as the game was marked by a number of controversial decision and some very heavy and late challenges.
Playing with the wind, Cluainin led 0-7 to 1-2 at the halftime break, Carrick's goal coming from Liam Moreton with an excellent catch and finish and they looked on course to take control in the second half when they were awarded a penalty for a foul on Moreton.
Unfortunately for the otherwise excellent Vincent McDermott, his penalty was poorly struck and easily saved by keeper Karl McDermott who was very solid and with McDermott leading the way, Cluainin pulled away for a comprehensive victory.
