Signage will be sought through Low-Cost Safety Signage Programme.
Cllr Enda McGloin asked that the Ballinamore municipal district examine Charlton's Crossroads junction, Drumshanbo along the L-3387/L-3388 to improve general safety.
"Can I suggest that the Road Design Office review the traffic flow coming from the four roads and come up with an alternative or safer option?" he asked.
The official response said that the council will install "proper signage to advise the Aghacashel road users of a local road junction under our Low-Cost Safety Signage Programme."
Leitrim County Council District Engineer, Darragh O'Boyle responded: "So you're looking at changing the priority of the junction? I think that's a good idea. I will talk to Road Design. From a visual point of view, the main road is the one that runs right through from Drumshanbo to Kilclare."
Cllr Brendan Barry commented that "you have four meetings but they are not meeting in straight lines and maybe some alignment might change the prioritisation there."
Mr O'Boyle said that the priority will be changed with "advanced signage for a couple of months."
Cllr Barry asked if some maintenance could be done on the verges; "there is traffic meeting and it is a bit narrow and there are several holes along the edge of the road."
